I very much approve of the choice of music for this series! I love that intro, very fitting too.

This podcast especially is useful for myself, as I'm designing a game at the moment for the craic of it.

First I've listened to, and now I'm off to binge on the rest. I'm just off to dissect all the games I have and then enjoy a milkless tea...

If I delve into the murky depths of game design at some point (more like when?), I'll definitely give this another listen.

http://darkswordminiatures.com/mainwebsite_html/store2VIF.htm
Don't know if you're aware of this company Robey, 95% of their stuff is very lovely-looking 28-30mm pewter fantasy stuff intended for rpgs and the like, with a very small number of 54mm designs, but they also have a small range much like Reapers "Legion of Justice & Caeke" - mostly focused on frogs in this case, but a few dogs and others as well
Saw them and instantly thought of the hobbycast.
Interesting sidenote is that the online store is split out by sculptor, rather than having specific ranges.

cheers,
Euan

To me when people say game "x" is better than game "y" they generally mean that game "x" is more enjoyable for them than the game they are decrying.

Thanks for the tips on camoflage. Spot on and is something that's been on my mind for my scouts for some time now. On the plus side, it does appear I've folowed your basic guidelines, don't camo the armor/web gear, etc. Well, my color scheme's a bit funky but hey, can't be perfect.
Thanks for another great listen.

The new Sectioned Style works well; hope it works as well for you as it does for us!

Many haven't owned Reaper Miniatures as they're a pain to get in the UK :(
Their huge catalogue is a bit confusing, but their Figure Finder is useful for RPGers and those who know what they want (were-land-shark? really?!) :D
Reapers' PPP were one of the first in circulation (or were on sale very early in the shift toward PPP) as i recall but not advertised well so passed under many radars :(
also, with regard to CAEK, it's worth looking at Mouseguard; they have a series of comics and a RPG; ideal for interested partners!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouseguard

Spraybooth. did we see Andy Halls' Painting Sleeve in the Tale Of 4 Gamers article?
http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1090234a_SpraySleeveXL.jpg

i slap paint all over the lids of my paints; its remembering not to rub my fingers over the wet paint :)
and to add something useful to that line have you tried the beaten, rusty effect of "Magic Wash" ?
(Brown Wash 50/50 Black Wash ) 75/25 Water
paint and highlight boltgun metal then slap Magic Wash all over it for a great effect!

with The System, are you recording examples of the Acolytes at the start then pictures as they develop?
would be really good to see peoples styles develop :)

Question Time (if i may :D ) !

You've talked about GW Terrain before and mentioned Antoc.. Jed at Barrule.
Do you have any experiences with other manufacturers?

Resin Bits. As i sit here pouring resin into a mould i've made, it occurs to me that there's a few "companies" making Resin Add-Ons. Microart, Charterhouse and Kromlech spring to mind.
What is your opinion on the manufacture and sale of components designed to go onto other companies minis?
Also, have you ever had need of making your own components on mass, say a custom icon for a Marine Army?

sorry for using the Comments System again; by the time i've typed an Email i'd forgotten what i wanted to say :(
's why the Comments are under the podcast; can have both open at once without any trouble :D

again, thanks for running the podcast!

With the Focus On, would you look specifically on new releases, or a single manufacturer and pick out specific items that catch your eye?

on the zO range, as i recall Dot's pet brick is called Toto
the munchkin aren't undead, but more abused slave labour...

Freebooters' Momma Cebada is a Goblin btw :D

on the "guild" organisation of painting skill, the problem is a lot of people have different styles; while some people (customer or painter) may like solid, well blended colours, black lining and so on, while some would enjoy pastel colours and almost rackham-ink style.

on the beginners section, re-introducing someone to The Hobby after a 10 year haitus, do you have any hard links that people can be directed to (along with this great podcast!)

On a Random Tangent. Bases. how do you decide how to base an army (either your own or if the customer hasn't specified)?
i remember having lost 50% of the green flock i glued to my first miniatures' base and recently moved to sculpting and casting my own, do you have any favourite tips and tricks?

again, thanks for the 'casts!

congrats on getting episode 3 out so quickly; you're nailing through these!
is there a schedule for new episodes?

Personally, I think you should cut back on the new minis reviews unless picking out specific pieces; we've seen most of the pictures already and i rekons giving a description of new minis is a bit redundant, while hearing about pieces that have caught your own attention and why would be a better use of time :)

How do you decide on a project like an army (as an example)? do you start with what you think'd look cool? or do you decide you want an X and work from there?

keep up the good work!

great podcast mate. have you thought of making it a semi-video podcast? your voice plus stills of the miniatures your talking about showing techniques etc.? would be a very informative way to do things and not that difficult to do.

cheers

Good Luck with your podcast :)

interesting to hear you have a large collection of Bronzed Flesh.
as a convert of the Bestial Brown/bleached Bone method, i was wondering how you paint flesh now?
